Branding and packaging design for an online start-up.

Truly Nifty came to me with a fabulous idea! Beautifully packaged gift boxes for time-strapped gift-hunters, for any occasion, available to order online.

They worked incredibly hard to source unique, interesting, and unusual gifts, creating a range of options for adults and children. Each gift box containing a selection of gifts based around a theme.

Their idea – that busy professionals could simply choose a gift box and order online, answering the prayers of many last-minute gift dilemmas!

The brief.

A look and feel that was premium, quality, and unique, And, as a start-up, budget was of course, an extremely important consideration!

First up was the brand, developed as a word marque with a bold colour palette of four colours. Along with this, the graphic stripe treatment, designed to mimic a patterned wrapping paper, anchors the word marque.

The strapline ‘The art of giving’ denoting that gift buying is in fact an art – also nods to the very carefully curated contents of the gift boxes.

Last, but by no means least, cost effective packaging design incorporates simple brown paper boxes with brightly coloured lids in the brand colours, and a printed belly band featuring the brand and strapline.

The belly bands were printed on a quality material with a finishing touch, quality branded stickers in the brand colours sealing the band closure.

This cost-effective solution meant that the only printed items were the belly bands and stickers. The boxes were off-the-shelf, making the packaging cost viable.
