2 week turnaround for a show campaign? Smashed it!

The Ginger Cat are a marvellous little Deli, born in Exminster, Devon in 2015.

Early in 2020 husband and wife team, Ben and Sally, were expanding to larger production premises, to fill the bellies of customers everywhere with their delicious comfort food. They needed brand development to take their produce to the wholesale market. And they needed it fast!

“We had a ridiculously short deadline and Claire turned around a whole new look for us in under two weeks! Amazing stuff. We really liked our original logo but needed more colour and warmth to communicate the love we put into our food and how that makes people feel. Our brief was met and more. We were supplied with fantastic point of sale cards, posters etc which we use to this day and are looking forward to working with Claire in the future.”

Time critical.

The problem.

Ben and Sally were planning to attend a trade exhibition, but with just a fortnight to get a show stand and materials together, time being ‘of the essence’ was an understatement! With a logo and some great photography, we were off to a great start, but a cohesive message and materials for the show were a matter of urgency.

The solution.

The ‘taste your happy’ campaign came from a casual conversation in our meeting, where they described the feeling of happiness they want their customers to share when eating their produce.

Until the show, all their materials, barring photography, had been black and white. So, the introduction of a warm colour further enhanced the ‘happy’ vibes of the messaging, working as a welcome contrast with their photographers’ dark image style.

Taking things further and naming the pies and pasties was a laugh a minute! And added a real sense of fun to their materials. Faced with some stiff competition - with much bigger marketing budgets, this gave them real stand-out at the show.

Job’s a good un!

Late nights and incredulous turnarounds on print ensured that the show stand and materials were delivered in under a fortnight! Job done! And the result? Ben and Sally were inundated with interest and new customers at the show for their growing wholesale business. Happy indeed!
